Concrete House

I’d like to introduce ‘The Concrete House’, it’s a new project we have been working on recently. The client, a part owner of a large concreting company wanted to create a home showcasing what he can do with his product. We have come up with a design that uses concrete three ways. The first being polished concrete flooring. The second, prefabricated tilt panel walls and the third, a roof showcasing an off-form concrete timber patterned ceiling. Hardwood timber inserts located in and around the house soften the rawness of the concrete. As with most of our designs landscaping features heavily. The home is divided up into four pavilions, all linked by glass walkways. It has an outdoor courtyard off the main living space and a large pool and deck to the north. The house will be located in the new estate off California Creek Rd, Cornubia. It’s a good block that has the most northern location in the subdivision. It also only has one neighbour to the south with all other aspects being bushland. Below are some of the images for the scheme.
