Zaha comes to Brisbane

The world shares a love/hate relationship with Zaha Hadid and her offsider, Patrik Schumacher. Their architecture is futuristic, it is fluid. There is no room for historic sensitivity. They embrace new design ideologies founded in parametricism and now they are coming to Brisbane thanks to the Sunland Group! Due to start construction in 2015 are three controversial new apartment towers located on the old ABC site in Toowong.

Called 'Grace on Coronation, the buildings will contain 486 apartments, eight villas. Landscaped park lands will run alongside the city’s riverbank also neighboring heritage-listed Middenbury House. Hadid, describing the proposed project said, ‘The design tapers each structure to minimize their footprint and open the riverfront to the public; creating a vibrant civic space for Toowong within a new riverside park.’

Below are some of the proposed renders. This is going to be interesting!
